Reading several bits in 16-bit modbus address, ModBus TCP

Hi,

Maybe You can help me with ModBus TCP communication with Loxone Miniserver. I'll be grateful.

I'm trying to integrate Vitobloc 200 with Loxone Miniserver - for that integration I'm using ModBus TCP interface (I attach an user manual with ModBus registers)
There's no problem to read hole 16- or 32-bits addresses, but I need to receive values of several bits in addresses with nr 5...12 (errors of Vitobloc, page nr 12-13). How can I do this? Do I need e.g. virtual inputs? Should I use analog or digital ModBus sensors?

Hi BB,

You may try to read the whole value via Modbus TCP and use a binary decoder function block to get the bits from the value. I'm not sure if the binary decoder will just use the lower 8 Bit and a second one with a divider by 256 in front of it the upper 8 Bit. Otherwise you may have to add a formula or some more function blocks in front of the binary decoder.
