Loxone alarm siren - Condensation/Water ingress damage

    Hello,

Sorry, my German is too bad to write this in German, so I'll do it in English.

I have the Loxone alarm siren mounted to the outside of my house. It is not covered from rain or wind, but according to the documentation that should not be an issue.
Last this april all of a sudden my siren stopped working. After contacting Loxone they took the unit in for inspection and concluded that the circuit board had corrosion damage.
    They replaced it under waranty.

I Installed the new siren, even threw on some silicone on the top to seal it of some more. All seemed fine until yesterday, it died again.
I now have another pending ticket at Loxone, however I am certain it will be the same as last time, corrosion due to condensation or water ingress (high winds, rain etc).

Are there any users on this forum that have had issues aswell with this product?

At the moment I feel this is a vastly inferior product seeing the quality of all the other hardware products. But I don't see any alternatives either.

    All info is welcome.

    Thank,

    Tom B.

Edit: Sorry, just now noticed there is an English section. Please move if needed.

Do you have photos of the case, the corrosion damage, ...
There must be a way for the water to flow in.

      Yes I do.

      Case:
As you can see the case is very basic. A plastic back with the PCB mounted below and a plastic front cover that clips in with 2 lips at the top. Then 2 screws in the bottom lock down the front plate. The front plate has two rubber strips down the side, but the top where the plastic lips click in is not sealed at all. I even put on sillicone last time round, but to no avail.
Loxone state that they put a hydrophobic coating on their PCB's to prevent water damage, but seeing as this is already my second siren in less than 2 years...

I was considering pouring in some RayTech magic gel all over the PCB, but that would probably void my warranty instantly.

      Grtz,
