Nur Rauschen über Mikrofon - USB-Soundkarte + Mikro und Kopfhörer

Habe eine externe USB-Soundkarte an einem Raspberry Pi 3b angeschlossen. An der Soundkarte sind Kopfhörer und Mikrofon angeschlossen. Die Kopfhörer funktionieren soweit ganz gut. Allerdings bekomme ich bei Aufnahmen über das Miktofon nur lautes Rauschen zu hören.
Hat jemand eine Idee was das Problem sein könnte?
Wäre sehr dankbar, denn ich komme hier nicht weiter.

Ich verwende zum test das Kalliope Plugin. Dort werden folgende Geräte angezeigt:

Hallo Joh,

Pulseaudio ist am LoxBerry standardmäßig gar nicht installiert. In diese Richtung würde ich empfehlen, Dr. Google weiter zu befragen.
