    establishing connection to miniserver

    Hello,

Since a couple of days, I run into an issue with some of my Loxone clients. They connect, laod the inteface and then write at the bottom "establishing connection with the miniserver". At this point, I cannot use the interface. Everything is on the same local network. I've reinstalled the loxone app, but after a short while it behaves the same.

edit: Gen 1 miniserver, firmware 16.06.10, some clients (android on Samsung A52, windows on Windows 11), but others work (android on Samsung A34).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Jörg

sIt sounds like the issue might be related to network settings or specific firmware/client compatibility. A few things you could try:

Check firewall or antivirus – Make sure nothing is blocking the connection to the Miniserver.

Use IP instead of hostname – Sometimes the app cannot resolve the server name on certain devices.

Clear app cache / reinstall again – You mentioned reinstalling, but also try clearing the cache completely.

Check firmware version – Some older clients might have issues with newer Miniserver firmware. Maybe test with another device on the same firmware.
Do other clients work consistently, or is it intermittent on all devices?

      Thanks!
I've updated the firmware to the latest, the apps are the latest versions.
The problem seems to stay with one phone (Samsung A52) and with two Windows clients. One other phone (Samsung A34) works consistently as it should. I've reinstalled the app on the others, but to no avail. My miniserver is not accessible from outside, but everything is in the same lan. Specifying the minserver via ip makes no difference (the apps see it, but seem to loose it after initial connection). There were no changes to my network...
      I'm stumped...
I will clear the cache also, not sue I did that.

        Spoke too soon

‐---Clearing cache seems to have fixed it on the Android... Thanks!

----Now how to do that for Windows.... ?

Unfortunately, the problem is not solved...

The clients that have the problem pop up the message "Register miniserver", about registering to Loxone cloud, which I have not done (and don't plan to - I'm behind a double nat and use vpn) ).
When I click away the popup, the client loads the config, the app works for a few seconds and then pops up "etablishing connection to miniserver". From that point on, I cannot use the miniserver interface. App works, but shows the miniserver as disconnected.

It was working fine before, nothing changed apart from upgrades to the latest firmware and app versions. I see no difference in the settings between clients that work and clients that don't... The clients that work don't pop up this message about registering the miniserver.

          Any ideas?

I have the same issue, it must be a Loxone issue as just like you it was fine untill about a week ago.... If i update the miniserver firmware its fine the first time you use the app, then when you access for the second time the "Establishing connection to miniserver" message appears. the same thing happens when I delete and reinstall the app, first time no problem, second time - "Establishing connection to miniserver" message again. very frustrating

It is enough to delete the miniserver from the app, and add it again to make it work for the first time you use it... But after that it again fails... very annoying.

Do you also have the situation that, on the devices that give the problem, the app pops up the notification about "registering the miniserver"?

I've compared settings of the app between my Samsung A52 (which gives the problem) and my Samsung A34 (which works fine), and cannot find a single difference. Not in the android setting for the app (permissions, etc.), nor in the specific settings within the Loxone app...

I've created a support ticket on the Loxone website.

I got a reply from Loxone. They suggest trying to clear the cache and install the app again... preferably using the apk on the website (no further explanation why that is preferred)... I will try it later today.

                edit:
Same issue with the apk version from the website.
There also is a new version on the app (I got an update notification), but it also gives the same problem.

I got the same issue. I am a bit relieved that others got that too, since I just switched to a new phone.

Tried the recommended solution, but no luck with that either.

I installed an older version of the app (15.3.3) that I got from the archive downloads (https://www.loxone.com/enen/support/downloads-archive/).

Not the ideal solution, but that works for me as a temporary "fix".

Mine started working correctly yesterday... with the latest version.
I have no idea what made it work...
