    Audioserver Follow Me

    Hello everyone,
I've recently bought a new house and during renovations I've installed an entire loxone system.
We installed an audioserver and 3 extensions with a total of 9 speakers (for now).

Each room has multiple presence sensors and the plan was to use these presence sensors in order to continue playing music when moving from room to room.
Lets say we start playing spotify in the living room and someone moves to the kitchen we want the music to continue playing in both the kitchen and living room, as long as they are occupied.

I'm having trouble finding a way to set this up, is it possible and if so how can it be done?
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction

This is actually a standard configuration. You have to add a "Audio Player" component (Baustein) to each room, and connect its "P" (Presence) input with the PM's P output - or even better use a "Presence" Component that manages presency in a room.

You could try to use the Loxone Autoconfig feature, that will set up rooms with the standard config, which will already take care of these things.

I did try that, but if another room was previously (lets say a day before) playing something completely different it won't continue playing spotify that is on in the first room. Rather it would start playing radio for instance instead of just "join" in with the room that is already playing

Then you have to group the rooms together. You can do that through the App, in the Audio module.

yeah I know I could group them together in the app. But I want it to happen/be possible without having to access the app. When walking around inside the house I'm not always carrying my phone. Even more annoying, if i currently do press the touch tree button in another room to start playing music, the music will stop in the room it was already playing in

Loxone doesn’t currently auto-join rooms to an active audio stream. A possible workaround is using one master Audio Player for Spotify and let presence only mute/unmute room outputs, but this requires custom logic and isn’t supported out of the box.

I did think about that as well. However there are some downsides to that as well. For instance this will prevent me from playing different music in different rooms if I would prefer that for whatever reason.

What you want is a magic system that can read your mind.

Loxone just turns on the music when you enter a room. It cannot know whether you want to play the same music as in every other room or some music specific to this room.

Currently its just starting the music. If the room had a different source set the last time you were using it, it'll restart that music using the same source. If you have joined the room to a group, it will just play the same music as the whole group.

There is no other logic way to implement this without a manual user interaction.

Actually no what I'm saying is not a system that can read my mind.
It would be, if any of the other players is currently playing. join that audio stream/session/group however you want to call it.
That would work for playing with presence sensors and touch buttons. If 2 rooms/players are playing and one room is left or otherwise paused. remove that group from the session so the other one keeps playing.

So it's not magic at al it's logic that would work if loxone would allow us to automatically join groups based on logic.
With this you could still start different music if you'd want in different rooms

What is "any"? What should the system do if there are two different rooms playing two different streams? Which one should it pick for your room?

What you want is just not possible. Either group your rooms for a generic "whole house" stream, and remove a specific room if you want to hear something specific. Or let each room have its own stream and just select in every room what you want to hear.
